During the early 16th centuryKing Sigismund 1 (1506-1548) brought in the best native and foreign artists, Italian architects and sculptors to create a plendid residence/castle It's magnificant arcaded courtyard of great dimesions and immaculate proportions formed the ideal location for tournaments and various court events which were watched by royality and guests.
